About the event

Peter and the Wolf is a story written by Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev which depicts animals of the forest via musical instruments. Discover how a flute can sound like a bird, an oboe like a duck and the clarinet like a slinky cat. Peter is warned by his grandfather, played by the bassoon, not to go out in the forest for there can be danger out there. Curious Peter does not take his advice. The sound of timpani sound the warning of the big bad wolf, played by the French horns. Does Peter get out of trouble? How is he helped by the woodwind instruments of the orchestra?

Murray Cook, popular with families over the years as the red Wiggle, narrates this famous orchestral tale. It is a story he loves telling.
